Dr. Nicole Jiam, a neurotologist and skull base surgeon at UCSF and executive director of the UCSF Otolaryngology Innovation Center, graduated from JHU with a neuroscience degree and received her medical degree from its School of Medicine. Post-residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at UCSF, she pursued a two-year Neurotology fellowship at Harvard Medical School. Her work has earned her the 2021 UCSF Catalyst Award and a 2021 Blackstone LaunchPad fellowship.

CO-FOUNDER, CMIO

Dr. Kevin Xin is a neuroradiologist with a background in biomedical engineering and machine learning. He completed both his undergraduate and medical education at the Johns Hopkins University. Kevin brings industry experience from roles at AbbVie and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, and has published multiple peer-reviewed papers on medical applications of machine learning. Since joining the IIAM team, he has contributed to the development of the platform's machine learning algorithms as well as its front-end interface.

CO-FOUNDER, CTO

Max Jiam is a graduate from Carnegie Mellon University, with a major in computer science with a machine learning/AI concentration. Prior to joining IIAM, he has worked on several mobile user interfaces as side projects, such as the dashboard for the TartanHacks hackathon and the Mites.io mobile interface. In his free time, he hangs out with friends, goes on walks, and satiates his obsession with boba tea.

ADVISOR

Dr. Patrick Ha is a Professor and Chief of the Division of Head and Neck Oncologic Surgery at UCSF. He specializes in the surgical treatment of head and neck cancers, with a focus on complex tumor removal and reconstruction. Dr. Ha is also actively involved in research aimed at improving cancer diagnostics and outcomes. He is recognized nationally for his expertise and leadership in the field.

Dr. Alexander H. Hoon Jr., MD, MPH, is a pediatric neurologist and neurodevelopmental specialist at the Kennedy Krieger Institute. Dr. Hoon's research focuses on utilizing advanced neuroimaging techniques, such as diffusion tensor imaging, to better understand and treat cerebral palsy. With over three decades at Kennedy Krieger, Dr. Hoon is recognized for his compassionate care, scholarly excellence, and mentorship in the field of neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Dr. Laura Vinchesi is a professor in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. With over two decades of experience in human-centered design, she has led initiatives in both B2B and B2C environments. At CMU, Dr. Vinchesi teaches courses such as Digital Service Innovation and contributes to the Master of Human-Computer Interaction program. Her work emphasizes visual and product design, design thinking, and innovation in education and practice.
